Ok, the trick to this honey soy chicken is to reduce down your glaze. If you do that you’ll have the most delicious dish ever!! Honey soy is a bit of a standard recipe, it’s been around forever and I’m sure you’ve probably eaten or made it over the years. It’s just a few ingredients, serve it with our amazing all-in-one ‘almost like fried’ rice and you’ve got a really simple, tasty dish.
You can marinate beef, lamb, chicken or even fish as it’s a great all-around marinade.
Serve with a salad and chips or over fried rice.
Remember to search for air-chilled chickens to avoid chlorine exposure in your chicken meat.

Ingredients
- 8 chicken legs or thighs
- 1/4 c soy sauce (or tamari)
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
Instructions
- In a cup or bowl mix together the soy sauce, honey, sweet chilli sauce and minced garlic. Pour over meat and cook in a slow cooker, on low, for 6 hours.
- Remove the cooked chicken, and pour the liquid into a pot (careful it's hot!).
- Simmer the liquid over a low to medium heat (you want a light simmer, not a fast boil), for approx. 30 minutes until the sauce reduces and thickens. This will be your sticky glaze.
- Pour the sticky glaze over the top of your chicken just prior to serving and enjoy!
Just put this together ready for tea tonight. Smells great! so quick and easy ?

This recipe is a huge hit in our house. My husbands favourite. Makes heaps and freezes well.
Sounds delicious- I don’t have a slow cooker. Is there a work around?
