Beef Stroganoff was something I always used to cook from a packet. I’d buy the seasoning and then cook it from that – always. Never, ever did I make it from scratch. So, basically, we hadn’t had beef stroganoff for years – because I no longer use packets.
I then realised our easy it was to make from scratch! Our goal is to get families using fewer packet mixes and eating more real food – and OMG this dish is so EASY!!! Like so easy, I have no idea why I ever used a seasoning packet in the first place.

Ingredients
- 600 g diced beef
- 1 brown onion, peeled and diced
- 2 c sliced mushrooms
- 1 tbsp. paprika
- 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. seeded mustard
- 1 tbsp. beef bone broth powder (optional)
- 1 tbsp. cornflour
- 1/4 c water
- 1 c sour cream
Instructions
- Add everything, except sour cream, to a slow-cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Approx. 1 hour before serving, mix in the sour cream and cook for the final hour.
- Serve with mashed potato and steamed veggies, boiled pasta, or cooked rice.

This is gotta be one of the easiest and quickest recipes out there!!! We always double up on the recipe so we can space it out over a few nights and mix it up between pasta or rice. Love it!!!!
