Making your own additive-free pastes and seasonings is something that just becomes normal after a while. When we decided to go additive-free we came to the conclusion that we would probably need to go without a few things… but really we don’t miss out on very much. We just make our own versions, and most of them are super easy – it’s just knowing how!
This is no exception, this paste is so easy it is kinda a little bit ridiculous…we challenge you to give it a go as well.

Ingredients
- 1 small ginger
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp. fennel powder
- 1 tsp. coriander powder
- 1 tsp. cumin powder
- 1 tsp. paprika
- juice from half a lemon
Instructions
Thermal Cooking Method
- Blitz everything together in mixing jug for 10 seconds/speed 9 or until well combined.
- Store in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Traditional Cooking Method
- Blitz everything together in a blender for 10 seconds/high speed or until well combined.
- Store in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
I doubled this recipe & rubbed into chicken drumsticks. They look & smell fantastic. The family eating them will be the true test.
