I love having some of these pinwheels in the freezer – they are perfect for school lunches, a quick and easy snack or for birthday parties.

You can adjust the toppings to suit you, but pizza ones are the most popular in our house. You can make your own sauce or search for our Pizza Sauce recipe to keep this recipe additive-free.

Ingredients

  • 6 sheets butter puff pastry
  • 6 tbsp. pizza sauce
  • 2 c freshly grated cheese
  • 6 rashers nitrate-free bacon
  • 1 tin pineapple pieces
  • 1 tsp. chia seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180ºC and line flat oven trays with baking paper.
  2. Spread out butter puff pastry.
  3. Spread out the pizza sauce evenly over each sheet of pastry.
  4. Sprinkle over each sheet the cheese, bacon (diced) and pineapple.
  5. Roll each sheet into a scroll shape and place on oven trays with the join at the bottom.
  6. Sprinkle with chia seeds.
  7. Pre-cut the pinwheels before baking.
  8. Cook for approx. 15 minutes, until golden on top.
