These are an additive-free alternative to the popular store-bought version, and delicious served with plain original rice crackers or veggie sticks.  Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Tip: We bought these perfectly sized containers from the supermarket – they are the Sistema brand. We are unsure if they are still for sale. Otherwise, pour the dip into small, individually sized tubs.

Ingredients

  • 200 g cream cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 150 g cheddar cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 50 g milk
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Thermal Method

  1. Add cream cheese and cheese to mixing jug and chop for 5 seconds/speed 4, then scrape down the sides.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and cook for 5 minutes/90֯C/speed 2.
  3. Once finished, stir with a spatula to make sure all the mixture is melted. If not, cook again for a further minute.
  4. Once fully melted, pour into containers and allow to cool and set.

Traditional Method

  1. Place all ingredients into a pot and melt over medium heat, continually stirring to ensure it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot.
  2. Once fully melted, pour into containers and allow to cool and set.
