We are asked all the time How did you come back after losing your entire website?” And “Why did you make the effort to come back?

It was a bit of a touchy subject for a while, but now that we have moved on past the anger and hate we felt towards the company that did that to us, we feel it’s time to answer and explain, and what better way than right here in this podcast.

Hopefully, we can inspire you, the next time you are in a similar situation. Struggling with something that seems too hard to handle, not sure how to get past the first hurdle and let go of the anger or hatred, not sure of the next step to take, or when things just seem too hard…

Let us share our story and explain the steps we took to make the comeback we deserved.

In Jo’s own words:

“Shit happens and as devastating as it is, there is always a step forward that you can go.”

This lesson is applicable not just in losing a site as big as ours, but also in your journey towards a healthier and happier you. Never underestimate the power of community, determination, and stubbornness in propelling you through roadblocks along the way!

Show Highlights

In this episode, we discussed:

  • How our problem all got started
  • The gravity of what was lost by our former website host
  • Our experience with pursuing legal action against the hosting company responsible
  • Why we ultimately drop any legal action so we can focus on what really matters: helping you
  • How we, our families and our audience benefited from this decision to let go
  • How emails, messages, and comments from you inspired us to keep going
  • The story of how we realized how big and great our community really is!
  • Why you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help when you’re in trouble

This episode is dedicated to every one of you who inspired and helped us pick ourselves up and get back to helping others (which makes us happy).

Without your help, we would never have come back as fast as we did and would never have been able to retrieve all the recipes lost from our database.

What happened did not diminish our desire to keep helping others, nor did it stop us from growing our business. In fact, since coming back last March, we’ve done some amazing things here at Sistermixin’:

  • We’ve launched a podcast
  • We’ve released a cookbook
  • We’ve conducted a couple of free 7-Day Challenges
  • Jo has quit her part-time job to work full time on Sistermixin’ (this was epic and so exciting)
  • We realised what makes us happy (all of you!)
  • We have released a stack of new recipes
  • We have conducted another round of Additive Free Made Easy

Things are going gang-busters and we couldn’t be happier. You guys are our rock, and we love you all to bits. Seriously, without the community support we received, nothing would have been possible. Through all the tears of anger and hate, came tears of joy and love, and for that, we will be forever grateful.

Love and appreciation

Tracey and Jo
