This white sauce is the perfect choice to top your lasagne (I sprinkled 1/2 a cup of cheese on top).
It is also extremely versatile and can be adapted to suit a range of different flavours:-
- Curry sauce – add 2 tsp of curry powder
- Cheese sauce – add 1/2 cup of cheese
- Parsley sauce – add 1 tblsp of finely chopped parsley
TIP: You can double this recipe if you need to and the cooking time will remain the same. This sauce will thicken on standing.

Ingredients
- 40 g butter
- 2 tbsp. plain flour (gluten-free works well)
- 300 g milk
- salt and pepper to taste

Thermal Cooking Method
- Place all ingredients into mixing jug and cook 7 minutes/90ºC/speed 4.
Traditional Cooking Method
- Melt butter in pot over medium heat, then add flour to combine.
- Slowly add milk, whisking constantly to ensure no lumps, until desired thickness is achieved.
