This is a great all in one meal. You know those meals you can just put together, set the timer and let it cook while you bathe the kids. This is one of those!
Tip – You don’t want the baking paper overlapping the side. You want to allow the steam to come through otherwise your chicken won’t cook. Make sure your baking paper is just big enough to hold your chicken and sauce only.

Ingredients
- 2 chicken breast
- 1 L water
- 400 g white rice - basmati or jasmine
- As many diced veggies as will fit in your top steaming tray
Soy Marinade
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tsp. thermomade veggie stock (optional)
- 20 g tomato sauce
- 50 g soy sauce
- 30 g honey
- 2 tbsp. water
Instructions
- Chop garlic in your mixing jug, 3 seconds/speed 5.
- Add all other sauce ingredients and mix 5 seconds/speed 5.
- Cut your chicken into strips or bits. Line your bottom steaming tray with damp baking paper and put chicken on top (see tip above). Add sauce from your mixing jug and coat chicken and place on the bottom steaming tray.
- Without washing jug, fill with 1L of water and insert basket. Add rice into the basket.
- Place lid on top, add bottom steaming tray into place.
- Place all veggies on your top steaming tray and put this into place, ready to cook - you now have all compartments together. Rice in basket (inside the jug), chicken & sauce in bottom steaming tray and veggies in top steaming tray.
- If using white rice - cook on steaming temp (the hottest your machine will go) for 15 minutes/speed 2. When rice is cooked, place into your thermoserver to keep warm.
- Once you remove the rice you can also remove the baking paper from under the chicken, just let the contents drain into your mixing jug.
- Give the chicken a stir and then continue to cook for the last 15minutes/steaming temp/speed 2.
- After 30 minutes, check that everything is cooked. If not, simply keep cooking until ready and then plate up and enjoy!
- *If using brown rice - this will take the entire 30 minutes to cook, so after 15 minutes remove the baking paper (as per above) and let the contents drain into your jug, it will simply flavour the rice.
