This scrub leaves your skin feeling amazing and smells fantastic! It’s cheap to make and looks great in a nice plastic container (I don’t like glass in my shower) and makes the most perfect gift.

They say coffee helps to reduce cellulite – that’s what the marketing on all the expensive coffee scrubs say anyway ;)

Substitutes 

  • If you don’t have macadamia oil, replace with fractionated coconut oil, jojoba or castor oil.
  • If you don’t have cacao butter, replace with shea butter.

Ingredients

  • 30 g coffee beans
  • 30 g cacao butter
  • 40 g macadamia oil
  • 150 g raw sugar
  • 20 drops grapefruit, lemon or lime essential oils

Instructions

Thermal Method

  1. Blitz coffee 10 seconds/speed 9, then set aside. No need to wash the jug.
  2. Place cacao butter and oil into mixing jug for 2-3 minutes/37°C/speed 2 or until melted.
  3. Pour coffee back into jug, along with sugar and essential oil and mix for 10 seconds/reverse/speed 2, scrape and repeat.
  4. Apply on wet skin and gently rub in circles to help remove dry skin
  5. Store in airtight container.

Traditional Method

  1. Either using a bag and mallet or high-speed blender, blitz coffee beans until they resemble fine crumbs. Set aside in a bowl with sugar and essential oil.
  2. In a saucepan add cacao butter and oil. Melt this until just melted then take off the heat.
  3. Add melted mixture to bowl with coffee ingredients and stir until well combined.
  4. Apply on wet skin and gently rub in circles to help remove dry skin
  5. Store in airtight container.
