This is our go-to Christmas Cake recipe as it’s a quick and easy cake to whip up at Christmas time that everyone will love.
It’s also really versatile because you can leave the nuts out if you want and use any dried fruit you like (sulphite free, of course). This really can cater to all tastes and fussiness levels.
Why sulphite free? Synthetic sulphites added via preservative 220, such as in dried fruit, are extremely harmful to asthmatics, can cause severe allergic reactions as well as digestive disruptions. Therefore, we suggest it should be avoided wherever possible.
This recipe is exclusive to our cookbook Everyday Additive-Free available from the Additive-Free Lifestyle Shop.
Everyday Additive-Free is a 320-page book filled with over 150 simple, tasty and budget-conscious recipes together with exclusive scientific information discussing additives and their effects on your health.
