We often see these ‘ready to go’ meals like these pinwheels from our local butcher. But what is in them? What additives are in the pastry and the filling and how will it make you feel? Sluggish, tired, or worse? This recipe didn’t take long to whip up and was delicious. We hope you enjoy it too x

Ingredients
- 3 sheets butter puff pastry
- 1 brown onion
- 1 carrot
- 1 zucchini
- 1 c baby spinach
- 1 kg chicken mince
- 1 tbsp. chicken bone broth powder (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. marjoram
- 1 tbsp. cornflour
- 1/2 freshly grated cheese (optional)
- 1 dash of milk (for basting)
- 3 tbsp. sesame seeds
Instructions
Thermal Cooking Method
- Lay pastry out on the bench ready to fill, and allow too defrost if needed.
- Cut onion into quarters and place into your mixing jug and blitz 5 seconds/speed 6. Scrape down sides and cook 2 minutes/100ºC/speed 2.
- Add carrots, zucchini and spinach. Blitz 5 seconds/speed 6. Scrape down sides and add everything else. Mix speed 4/reverse, until well combined. You might need to use the spatula to help it move around.
- Divide mixture evenly between the three sheets of pastry (by placing in the middle of each sheet). Spread the mixture over two-thirds of each sheet only. Starting with the end that has no mixture on it, fold this over the mix (towards the middle) and then fold again, so you end up with a pinwheel shape.
- Baste with a small amount of milk and sprinkle with sesame or chia seeds. Cook for approximately 25 minutes, or until nice and golden.
- Serve with fresh salad or vegetables.

I made these for the first time last night and the whole family ate them no complaints!!! These will be a regular for dinner. I didn’t have zucchini so put 100gms of baby spinach which made the filling green but, man they were soooo good!!
