Ingredients
Pie Filling Ingredients
- 800 g diced beef
- 1 brown onion
- 200 g ham
- 1 c mushroom
- 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp. bbq sauce
- 2 tbsp. bone broth powder or 1/2 cup bone broth stock
- 2 tbsp. corn flour
Extras
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 sheet (or batch) of shortcrust pastry
- 1 sheet of butter puff pastry
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Slice your mushrooms and add all pie-filling ingredients into a slow cooker. Stir and cook on low for 7 hours.
- Once cooked let the mixture cool a little (removing the mixture from the hot slow cooker will fasten this process). Pre-heat oven to 200ºC and make the pastry if you are making your own.
- Butter a pie dish with a pastry brush well and lay shortcrust pastry in the bottom. Add pie filling on top and place puff pastry on top of the meat. Squish the pastry edges together pushing the two pastries together and brush the top with an egg wash (whisked egg).
- Cook in the oven for approx. 30 mins or until pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
