Today we’re chatting with Debbie who runs a website called TILT parenting which provides an abundance of insight and inspiration to parents with differently wired kids. She affectionately uses this term rather than disability or disorder and has her own differently wired 12-year-old son with ADHD and Aspergers.

We hear about Debbie’s very many challenges of bringing up her son and how she didn’t have any signposts to help her out along the way. As an author and former kid’s TV executive, Debbie has taken her gift of connecting and creating communities to become an advocate for parents dealing with similar situations.

Debbie talks about the unnecessary social stigma attached to those that are different and how it can create isolation and separation. She dives into the in’s and out’s of homeschooling her boy in a foreign country and how he is thriving with his curriculum.

We also raise issues about the traditional educational model and how it is outdated in many aspects. If you know of a close friend or family member that is differently wired, you’ll gain a fresh insight into how you can approach the many unique aspects of their lives.
