Have you ever noticed that when you go on holiday you often come back just as tired as when you left? We certainly did on a recent family trip to Fiji. It got us thinking – is it all the ‘holiday food’ that gets consumed?

In this episode, we speak about our recent trip to Fiji (which we won thanks to doTERRA essential oils) and in particular we focus on our eating habits along the way. As always, we are keen to totally #notstressit whilst on holidays, and that includes the foods that we eat because food should not be stressful, it should be enjoyed.

We indulged in breakfast buffets (which were included in our hotel package) and quickly noticed that many of the foods were not overly healthy and certainly not additive-free. To stick to our normal diets, that we had back home, would only cause us stress which is certainly not what we wanted on holiday!

We do however discuss the limits we placed on ourselves and certainly on what our children ate – they didn’t have complete free reign at the buffet table! And after a couple of days, it soon became evident that maybe us adults needed to ease off a little as well.

If we were to eat the same food that we ate whilst on holiday, wow, we would be one very unwell family. By the time we got home, we were all bloated, lethargic and feeling like we needed another holiday. However, being in a relaxed place, completely on ‘Fiji time’ meant we could, and did, indulge in different foods.

It sure was nice to return home though, and get back into our normal routines of healthy habits and exercise.
